SPEAKING
David speaks from
inside the work.
Presence, shadow, and what becomes possible when we stop running from what we feel.
For more than three decades, I have taught people through movement, conversation, and contemplative practice. Today, I speak about the territory between understanding ourselves and actually changing: presence, shadow, the intelligence of the body, and the patterns that keep shaping our lives long after we understand where they came from.
SIGNATURE TALKS
Why understanding yourself isn't enough
The gap between insight and freedom.
We can know exactly why we are the way we are and still find ourselves repeating the same patterns. David explores the gap between insight and freedom, and why lasting change often begins where explanation ends: in our relationship with what we actually feel.
The strategy that saved you
When adaptation becomes identity.
The strategies that once helped us survive can quietly become the patterns that limit us. This talk explores how adaptation becomes identity, why successful coping can be so hard to relinquish, and what becomes possible when we no longer need the strategy that once protected us.
Presence is not peace
Learning to remain intimate with intensity.
Presence is often mistaken for calm. But some of life's most important moments are anything but calm. David offers a different understanding of presence: not the absence of intensity, but the capacity to remain in relationship with ourselves while intensity is here.
WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER
Podcast Guest
Long-form conversations on presence, shadow, grief, meditation, and the psychology of real change. David works best in unhurried dialogue, where an idea can be followed all the way down.
Keynote
For conferences on mental health, leadership, and human potential. A keynote combines personal story, psychological insight, contemplative practice, and direct audience inquiry, and can be shaped to the event without changing the integrity of the work.
Workshop
Half or full-day immersive sessions that move an audience from understanding into practice, through guided inquiry, embodied awareness, and the three stages of the Shadow Integration Technique.
